Welcome back! We hope everyone had a relaxing break and are now raring to go!
This half term our focus will be on Traditional Tales. We will create a fairy castle with the children throughout the term and each week we will focus on a traditional tale.
This week our traditional tale was ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
We had great fun in the sand tray sorting the golden eggs from the coloured eggs. We remembered that the Giant’s goose laid golden eggs.
Some of the children decided they would make Jack’s house out of construction toys – they spent a long time working on this together and the end result was fantastic!
We have also started our first phonics lessons this week. We were practicing our listening skills by listening to how many bangs on the drum our teacher did. Then we each had to do 5 bangs on the drum – it really helped our counting skills!
At the end of the week we were given beaters and had to go outside to find things that we could make a noise on. We found so many different things outside that made great noises!
We would also like to welcome our 4 new friends to Ladybird Class. We were all so excited to meet you and we know you are going to love being in Ladybird Class just like we all do!
